🌿 Folk Remedy for Red Eye

Red eye is prevalent in summer. Here are two folk remedies for prevention and treatment:
1. Boil 15 grams of Equisetum (also known as pen shell grass or pen tube grass) and 250 grams of fresh bitter gourd (or 125 grams dried bitter gourd) into decoction (suitable dose for middle-aged and elderly). Wash and halve fresh bitter gourd, remove seeds, slice thinly. Cut Equisetum into 3–5 cm segments. Simultaneously place both ingredients in a clay pot, add water, simmer gently until reduced to two bowls. Strain out residue and consume. Take once in the morning and once in the evening. One course lasts 3 days and can cure the condition.
2. Boil 60 grams each of mulberry leaf (or chrysanthemum) and dandelion into water for drinking as tea. It may also be cooled and used to wash eyes. This remedy typically cures symptoms after about 7 days.<red eye>
