🌿 Diagnostic Criteria for Intraductal Papilloma
1) This condition commonly affects middle-aged and elderly women.
2) The nipple frequently discharges red or coffee-colored fluid, or stains are found on undergarments.
3) A movable, soft, non-adherent lump may be palpated near the nipple or areola. When pressed, bloody, serosanguinous, or serous fluid may be discharged.
4) If no lump is palpable, but fluid is observed from the nipple upon clockwise compression of the areolar area with the index finger, diagnosis can still be made.
5) Mammography of the duct system and cytological examination of secretions can ultimately confirm the diagnosis.
