🌿 Clinical Characteristics of Fibroadenoma of the Breast
Fibroadenoma is the most common benign tumor in young women. Recurrent or multiple cases require high vigilance due to higher risk of malignant transformation. Clinically, it commonly presents the following features:
1. Most commonly occurs in women aged 15–25, during peak reproductive years.
2. Most frequently located in the upper outer quadrant of the breast; approximately 75% are solitary, with some being multiple.
3. The most distinctive feature is the absence of subjective symptoms. Patients usually discover it incidentally or during bathing—a movable, smooth, well-defined, firm mass resembling a peanut or jujube.
4. Typically, there is no axillary lymph node enlargement, no nipple discharge, and the size of the mass is unaffected by the menstrual cycle.<Breast>
