【Function and Indications】
Function: Expel parasites, strengthen spleen, and stop diarrhea. Indicated for diarrhea due to hookworm disease.
【Prescription Composition】
Radix Codonopsis 15g, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae 20g, Rhizoma Dioscoreae 30g, Coix Seed 30g, Areca Seed 30g, Polygonum Multiflorum 30g, Prepared Licorice 5g, Amomi Fructus (added later) 3g, Semen Torreya Flesh 100g, Jujube 20g; decoct in water, divide into three doses for morning, noon, and evening.
【Differential Diagnosis and Modification】
Spleen yang deficiency: add Prepared Ginger 4.5g, Cinnamon 3g; spleen yin depletion: remove Codonopsis and Atractylodes, add Adenophora 12g, Dendrobium 10g, Euryale Seed 15g, Lotus Seed 15g; kidney yang deficiency: add Aconite 6g, Four Gods Pill 9g (wrapped); qi deficiency with prolapse: add Astragalus 12g, Bupleurum 6g; liver overacting on spleen with aggravated abdominal pain: add Saposhnikovia 9g, White Peony 12g, double the licorice; severe qi and blood deficiency: add Astragalus 12g, Angelica Sinensis 9g, Colla Corii Asini (melted) 12g.<Drive Parasites>
